Why I Built a Private Esthetics Studio in Longwood

Most studios are designed for speed. 33 Esthetics was built around slowing down — a private studio in Longwood, FL where the pace is part of the treatment.

When people hear "private esthetics studio," they usually picture a spa — calm music, maybe some candles, a service that starts and ends on a timer. That's not quite what I was going for.

Where the Idea Came From

Before I got into esthetics, I spent years working as a certified wellness coach. I worked with people through burnout, stress, and the kind of chronic exhaustion that doesn't go away with a good night's sleep. One thing I kept noticing: how much tension lives in the body — in the shoulders, the jaw, the scalp — and how rarely people have a space where it's actually addressed directly.

Esthetics gave me a way to do that with my hands. Not metaphorically. Literally.

What "Intentional" Means in Practice

I use that word a lot — intentional skin care. It can sound like marketing language, so let me be specific about what it means in this studio.

It means I don't move on autopilot. I don't have a script I run through for every client. Before each session, I ask how you're doing — not as small talk, but because it changes how I work. Someone who's been running on no sleep for two weeks needs something different than someone who just wants a glow before their vacation.

It means the massage component of every scalp service is genuinely therapeutic, not decorative. I trained specifically to work with the tension patterns in the head, neck, and jaw. I'm not just pressing and releasing — I'm paying attention to where the resistance is and working into it.

It means there's no pressure to talk, perform, or be "on." Some clients close their eyes and don't say a word the whole session. That's completely welcome.

Why a Private Studio

I could have worked in a larger salon. It would have been easier to fill a schedule. But a shared environment changes the energy. There's noise, transitions, other conversations. It's hard to ask someone to drop their guard in a space that feels like a waiting room.

A private studio means the session is yours. There's no one else coming in or out. There's no rush because someone else is booked in the chair in 45 minutes. The pace can be whatever it needs to be.

What I'm Building Toward

33 Esthetics is still early. I'm one person, working in one studio, doing a small number of services that I've thought carefully about. That's intentional too.

I'd rather do fewer things well than offer a long menu and spread thin. Right now, I'm focused on scalp rituals, spray tans, and back facials — three services where I can actually deliver something meaningful, not just technically competent.

If you're looking for a head spa near Orlando, I wrote a full guide on what head spas involve and how to find one. And if you're new to spray tans, start with the prep and aftercare guide — it'll make all the difference.

If any of this sounds like what you've been looking for, I'd love to have you in. You can book online anytime — no phone call required. If you're new, your first spray tan is $40 — it's the lowest-commitment way to experience the studio.
